Louis Vuitton to Discontinue Takashi Murakami Monogram Collection

As of July 2015 Louis Vuitton's multi- coloured Takashi Murakami monogram print will no longer be seen on the iconic bags and accessories after 12 years on the shelfs.

The multi-colour monogram made its first appearance at Marc Jacobs's spring 2003 show for Louis Vuitton. It became an It bag and celebrity must have. Knockoffs were everywhere (I have to admit I had a cute little coin purse that I bought from a market stall aged 10).

Stars such as Anna Kournikova and Paris Hilton were public fans of the design. While Jessica Simpson also brought the purse on a camping trip to Yosemite in an episode of her MTV reality show "Newlyweds."
This collection is also known for being the longest lasting of its multiple collaborations with Murakami.
Although it's sad to see this iconic design leave the shop, it is important for brands to move on and a spokes person for the brand said it preferred to "look forward".
